Durante la fase creativa inicial dentro del planteamiento de Disney+ se barajaron muchas posibilidades de cara al contenido original con el que iba a estrenarse esta plataforma en streaming, entre ellas la adaptación de la serie de novelas firmadas por Ridley Pearson, 'The Kingdom Keepers'. Al menos así lo aseguró en su día Kevin Smith, autor que ahora ha querido aclarar qué sucedió con aquella idea.
